Ways to cure a hangover, some good, some crazy

In this fast paced life, we are always looking for an opportunity to get drunk, after all, all work and no play makes everyone dull (not just Jack). The best in life often comes at a cost and so does the best night out. You are well-dressed, at your suave best, wearing good cologne and all that, but the very next morning you are the image of a moving ghost. Seasoned drinkers have their own favourite versions of hangover remedies, most common being the lemon water bottoms up. But there are way too many factors in play here, and one of the most important one is sleep. Sure you might doze off early, but you are not really getting all the sleep you require. This is one of the main contributing factors to a bad hangover. So with that in mind, let us now look at the various remedies for getting over a hangover.

A big bad breakfast

Yes you read that right. A big bad breakfast is sometimes all you need for getting rid of a hangover. Enjoy a nourishing breakfast that includes eggs, cereal, wheat breads, and so on. You should limit or avoid caffeine, this does not really help. Also do not take any aspirin or ibuprofen. We often take shortcuts thinking they are the best ways, but they aren’t.

A night of drinking and partying always requires some rejuvenation the next day, and this is why Russians head to a Sauna. But this is not all; the day at the sauna also comes with thrashing with the help of a thin limb of the young birch tree. However, some research suggests that the combination of alcohol and hyperthermia increases the likelihood of cardiac arrhythmias.

Cabbage to the rescue

In ancient Greece it was believed that vine and cabbage are natural enemies. Hence, the vine could very easily capture the smell of cabbage and refused to grow in its vicinity because of its pungent smell. Thus, eating cabbages when you have filled your insides with wine can be a good way to get the wine to stop irritating you. This definitely sounds interesting.

Drink a lot of fluids

The morning after your drunken stupor, you are in need of liquids, especially water. Drink water throughout the day to keep yourself hydrated. You will realise that your throat is dry, and your joints are aching, these are signs that your body needs water, and you should drink. You can also drink various fruits and vegetable juices, but please do not go back to the bottle because that really does not help.

Chicken noodle soup

That old comfort food, never out of kitchen, chicken noodle soup is one of the most delicious ways to get over your hangover. It will help you to restock sodium and water levels in the body, while at the same time chicken contains cysteine that boosts the liver. Plus it is warm, delicious, and add in some vegetables to make it nutritious. This is exactly what you need when you are looking to cure a hangover.
